Uranus in Taurus - 2018 - 2026

The planet of evolutionary force in the sign with the most resistance to change

Uranus moved into Taurus on Wednesday 1:17am 16th May 2018, and besides a brief sojourn and retrograde back into Aries, from November 7th - 2018 - 6th March 2019, it has been there since. I wonder if we knew what we were in for? I know there were plenty of astrologers that had an idea…

My astrology journey has been one of layers of learning and experience, with each year culminating with more understanding, applied throughout my life. Most of it is just observation tbh, and joining the dots. It is not that hard really, just observe outwards and notice what is happening inwards. Rinse and repeat. Note the particular aspects and transits of the solar system. How might this be playing out? Observe the greater field of awareness and consciousness. What is going on in the world? How does that influence my own personal life…?

If I am completely honest, I did not understand the full significance of Uranus’s journey through the signs. It took meeting a brilliant astrologer - Maureen Richmond - to really see the significance of the greater outer planets and their movements, more so their relationship and cycles with the other greater outer planets.

These 3 planets - Uranus, Neptune and Pluto - very much influence generations . That I understand and understood. As they are further out and take longer to orbit the solar system, they spend longer in each sign. While the Moon only spends 2.5 days in a sign or constellation and the Sun roughly 30 days, these outer planets can spend 7 years (Uranus), approximately 14 years(Neptune), or from 12 - 31 years(Pluto). As you can see, these are long periods of transit and as such, gives a particular vibration and resonance to whole generations, depending on which planet we are talking about.

Uranus is given much sway and influence in esoteric circles. There are lots of labels attached to it, much energetic meanings given to where it is, what it does and how it might be affecting the energetic field around us.

Some of the biggest attributes is it is linked to is - evolution, change and science. As such, it is often linked to the fringe, the outer progressive circle. It is unique even with its rotation, with it turned almost to a 90 degree angle. While Earth has a 23% tilt, Uranus is almost fully on the side at 90%. Unique indeed.

Many like to think of it as the rebel, a force that loves to break rules and the status quo. Realistically we need this energy, otherwise we would crystallise and just be completely pattern bound. Life needs to move, live and then die. But move it must…

So when Uranus entered into Taurus - the sign of fixed earth - many predicted some chaotic change. Boy were they right. What happens when you put the planet of change and rebellion (to evolve and move forward) into the sign with the most to lose by being that way? Some enduring chaos, thats what.

Taurus is a sign that rules the staple needs from which we live by. It is one of the signs that rules money (at least the tangible form of it) and Taureans are known to want to acquire material things. Preferably beautiful, as it is ruled by Venus, but things all the same. ‘I acquire’ could be its catch cry, while its opposite sign - Scorpio - looks to detach, purge and let go.

The time that Uranus spent in Aries, before moving into Taurus, was a massive one for making plans. Aries is a spark of energy, an impulse, the creative desire. Ideas were formulated and put forth, the energy needed to manifest. So plans were made, big, small, long range, small and quick. Grand ideas, grand thoughts, forward reaching, new ways of being and living.

Do you remember what your plans were during the years of 2010 - 2018/19? They would have started to manifest during the last few years. Energy follows thought. The spark of will in Aries eventually needs to land in form here, to take on a physical presence.

Of course, this is all on a personal level. Your wants and desires, the things you wanted to achieve…

What about your Soul or your Higher Self? Surely it had its own wishes for evolution, what it could achieve in one lifetime?

Yes indeed! Uranus in Aries is a powerful combination. The start of a new 84 year cycle, in the first sign of the zodiac wheel. What a great time to begin a new cycle, or a cycle within a cycle.

And what about the greater humanity, everyone collectively? It would have made sense to use the Law of economy and plan, then manifest at the right time. What grand plans were in place for the collective evolution, what could be brought forth?

Once Uranus landed in Taurus, it was time for manifestation of those ideas and new visions, time to anchor here on Earth. Taurus seeks form on the physical plane, and it does it methodically and with determination. A relentlessness, you could say.

I remember writing an article about this transit a few years ago and I hypothesized a new era of beauty and cultural revolution transcending on the Earth. The reason I gave was putting the attributes of Uranus - change, new paradigm, revolution etc - with the more beautiful aspects of Taurus - art, love, music, beauty or form etc - together. Thus, I saw a cultural revolution happening, perhaps a renaissance.

How wrong I was (well at least for now)… That is the beauty and complexity of astrology, the weaving together of different strands of energetic interplay. When casting into the future, you combine many things - knowledge, experience, wisdom, intuition. It doesn’t always go the way you vision things though, and that is ok.

One thing I was right about and what many others predicted, was a complete change in how money is used. Look at how things are progressing, with an almighty push from a group of people in power. I saw a video the other day where a lady from the UN (cannot remember her name) was saying how every country in the world has signed up to remove and accelerate the removal of cash. Thats right - EVERY COUNTRY.

You might be reading this and be saying, what is wrong with that?

Lets just say that it makes sense that this would be something that might come about under the Uranus in Taurus influence. The planet of great evolution, sweeping revolutionary change, in the sign on money and security, means a massive change to the way we trade and interact.

That in itself would be fine, yet there is one major major problem….Both sides - light and darkness - use the energetic field. I know this for sure. 100% certain. How can it not be so? Energy is energy, and energy follows thought. I have seen enough in the last few years to say with certainty that this is the case.

So some people are seeking the complete and immediate removal of tangible (Taurus) cash….It is safer (no pesky handling dirty money), less chance to be physically robbed, no need to go to the bank to get money out, convenient, saves paper and resources…I can see the appeal, I can see where it is headed.

Those that love crypto and who seek to trade with crypto, meaning they have a decentralised way to use digital cash and avoid governmental control (for now), say it is fine. Again, I understand it. But I wonder if they truly understand the implications of a ‘no cash society’…

Complete and full control to whoever controls the internet is what it amounts to. Every transaction, small or big, will have a link. That would be great if we lived in a world with complete transparency, but we do not. Far from it. Your governments constantly hide the most basic facts from the people that they are meant to represent. Most are corrupt to the core.

It is very dangerous territory. Our so called convenience will be a ticket to complete slavery.

Just the other day I received an email from my bank telling me that if I do not confirm my ID requirements soon, they could limit my access to my banking. Indeed!!

I had a look at what they were asking for and they want to know everything, date of birth, number, email, address, what I do for a job, everything… Why would the bank need to know what I do for work? I wasn’t applying for a loan, this is just to continue to use my money.

A look at your account will show you what I mean. Every transaction labeled into categories - food and beverage, home and property, retail and personal….

I know that Uranus in Taurus is changing the way we transact, how we use money. it was always going to be the case. Last time we had this same transit (1935 - 1942) we were in the great depression, we had world war 2, plus not long after (1944), The US dollar was put forth as the world’s reserve currency. We know that sweeping monetary changes come from this transit, however, I for one know that the current model that we have will not serve us well. It is heading into a place where life will be very restricted.

If you think I am exaggerating, look up future plans - carbon taxing (this is where knowing what you spend on is important), limits on all travel, expenditure, universal basic income (good in theory but not in practical outcome), energy expenditure, non car ownership etc…all tied to a digital system to transact. Be very wary.

All of these plans, have come through under the umbrella of the last few years and the experience that was the COVID lockdowns, though they have long been planned. These lockdowns that were orchestrated gave emergency powers to governments (well they made it so), and so they manifested some of the plans they had in regards to digital currency.

A great use of the energies. If you so wanted to apply a new system to banking…a great reset….Uranus in Taurus would certainly set the stage for such a new method….

One huge positive that I would say came out of the experience of the COVID experience, was a new way to look at value. For what is a money transaction anyway but an exchange in value - one thing for another. An energy exchange.

Being confined to an area or home, not being able to travel, not being able to go out, being at home with the family instead of spending time at work or commuting - all these things gave us time to sift through our thoughts and needs and peal back what was important, what we valued. Did you feel like that too?

I took it to heart and decided to move (very Uranus) to a rural property with a slower pace lifestyle and more in nature (very Taurus). Not everyone could or wanted to, but I recognised the energetic flow and for me - responding to the rebellious Uranus and not enjoying being locked in like a criminal - decided to use the energy available to create a new (Uranus) life.

I only mention this as I am trying to show how you can read an energetic field and respond to it.

During some of 2020 and 2021, Saturn was in Aquarius. This energy is one for concern and responsibility of the greater community. The governments of the world and all those that pushed certain agendas hit a note when they said do it for others, stay at home, wear a mask, take the vaccines, don’t visit anyone - they knew or they responded to the energetic flow of Saturn in Aquarius.

The issue was that Saturn and Uranus (in Taurus) were in a square relationship throughout all of 2021 and then again in 2022, setting the stage for tension.

If Uranus is the rebel, then the rule follower would be Saturn. This planet loves to give structure and rules. Uranus loves to break them. Push me, pull you. Risk taking and going towards the new frontier vs weighing up the risk and being accountable for any actions taken.

That issue of value came up hard, inflamed by time spent going through what we valued and what we were willing to do for it. It was a great test. Where did your value lie? Where does it lie?

Those lessons were a key to moving forward, as I believe we are entering a new era, especially with the transit of Pluto through Aquarius (more on that in a later post). In the new world being offered to us, what you put your value on or in will help define your life and your experience, hence the testing ground of the last few years and then also for the remaining 3 years with Uranus in Taurus.

Lets hope that the artistic renaissance that I predicted still has time to anchor itself in the next few years. Once Uranus moves into Gemini, we will most likely have a revolution in the way that we communicate, though we could say that this is already happening.

The next 3 years will continue to see unstable financial markets, as Uranus stirs the pot. Be very observant with what is happening, especially with digital currencies. Look at all the issues of a digital system, as within that lies control for a handful of governments, corporations and powerful people, who see this time as a great time to ‘anchor their vision’.

Remember what you value, and if it doesn’t resonate with that then reject it thoroughly.
