Before any major transits, there are always plenty of ideas hypothesised by astrologers of what might happen during a transit. It is a skill to intuit themes of energy, and some do it better than others.
Time will always be the testing ground, and hindsight is always a beautiful thing. I bear that in mind, as should anyone who attempts to gaze into the astrological crystal ball, and make an informed prediction of how things might play out.
Neptune moved into Aries on the 30th of March 2025 AEDT, beginning a new 168 year cycle. The last time it spent time in Aries - 1861 - 1875, America experienced a civil war, showing both the revolutionary (new idealogical and spiritual vision) energy that is in the air during this transit, plus the potential for conflict with Aries - the God of war in the mix.
This transit is even more powerful, given that in the early stages, we also have a Neptune/Saturn conjunction as well. This happens roughly every 36 years, and is part of another cycle within a cycle.
The thing about Saturn entering the mix is that Saturn holds all to account. As the lord of Karma, he adds a completely different dynamic to the mix.
The last Neptune/Saturn conjunction was in 1989, seemingly a world away. I was just entering year 8 at high school, and I will say, it was a very difficult year for me personally. I remember well the hard times of that particular conjunction.
That was the beginning of a cycle, which has just concluded now. That in itself is a big thing. As I said, cycles within cycles. The change that we have seen in the last 36 years has been extraordinary. I would consider myself to be in a much better space than in 1989.
Besides Saturn holding all to account - I think we can see this beginning now, after the fiasco of the last 5 years - it also anchors the energy of whatever it is influencing. Having a Neptune/Saturn conjunction at the beginning of the movement of Neptune into Aries, firmly establishes the energy.
Saturn does this with its effect of boundaries, symbolised by its rings that enclose it. Most notably, the position of Saturn is the last planet that can be seen by the naked eye. To go beyond it, you need a telescope, symbolising the need for extra help than is normally available on a human level.
With Saturn joining Neptune in the early stages of Aries, one senses an increase in the effect, with a heightened sense of karma playing out. Will Saturn help us also?
This will be the case for all of this year, and into next. Saturn moved into Aries on the 25th of May 2025 - AEST and though has not gone exact, it is still a conjunction. It is within a degree, meaning the line up is intense and powerful. This will continue well into May next year before the faster moving Saturn moves far enough away to have a lessening effect.
Remember, Saturn holds all to account. No exceptions. There will be some reckoning. we will also see the beginning of a new 36 year Neptune/Saturn cycle, marking a new chapter in life here on Earth.
Now that we have established the Saturnian influence on the early part of this 14 year cycle, let’s have a closer look at Neptune in Aries by itself. There is so much I would like to say, but I will need to sift some thoughts out otherwise this article will be too long.
I did do a presentation in September last year (2024) on this coming transit. Looking back over the slides, I noticed I was pretty spot on with what has happened so far. I am not a seer, I just looked at the combination of energies and put them together.
If we look at Neptune first, we see a mystical planet. It traditionally rules Pisces - the sign of the 2 fishes swimming in opposite directions. Pisces is mutable water. Mutable means no boundaries, free to roam and move. Like the ocean.
Pisces is often linked to the mystical and spiritual realm. It is said to rule the subconscious, the realm that is furtherest in essence from the tangible conscious.
Neptune steps in with this influence. Add creativity, music, the dream world, fantasy, and we begin to understand a planet that influences the non practical, the non tangible or touchable.
I am sure there was a time, and will be another time, when we lived here on Earth more with the influence of Neptune, where magic and the spiritual were as common place as the physical and practical are here now. Perhaps that is where we are headed.
To understand the bigger picture of Neptune, and its movement into Aries, let’s consider its sojourn through the last sign, the one it feels most affiliated with - Pisces.
Neptune is said to rule Pisces, or vice versa. they certainly go together.
Neptune moved into Pisces in 2011, 14 years ago, to begin the last part of its 168 year cycle around the zodiac.
Pisces rules endings, being the last sign of the zodiac. So, Neptune moving into Pisces was a step towards home, but also the closing out of a cycle. As Pisces rules spirit, we could say we were and did come to the end of a spiritual cycle.
Anyone that lived through the COVID fiasco of 2020 - 2023, meaning you did not have your head in the sand, would have definitely come to a realisation that there was a change in spiritual values going on. There seemed to be a definite worship of certain thoughts and ideologies, almost like a new religion being born.
This was in part orchestrated, but it was orchestrated and encouraged because of the energies that were available. Neptune in Pisces was closing out a cycle, and things were unravelling and being revealed.
Neptune is said to influence illusion. It is no wonder that it is said to rule Hollywood. The making of movies, theatre, entertainment, storytelling telling - all Neptune or Pisces. The combination of the 2 saw all of this combined energy come to a head, and COVID was the revelation of it all.
As a cycle comes to an end, or a planet begins to move out of a sign, we see the culmination of that combination - both positive and negative. We definitely saw that with the last few years of Neptune in Pisces, as it happened to bring in 2 events - the end of Neptune in Pisces… and the end of 168 Neptune cycle around the zodiac.
I could go on more - about transgender fluidity (definitely Neptune in Pisces), but I will move on.
This leads us to the current day - the beginning of a new cycle, and the beginning of Neptune in a new sign, one that just happens to be in Aries - the God of War.
I know what you are thinking, it is easy to say war now as Iran and Israel begin. But I have been saying this for a while. Long before I did a presentation last September. Ukraine and Russia have been already fighting, as was Israel already bombing Palestine.
Unfortunately the energy is such that conflict is there in the field. Why? Because Neptune rules religious ideology, and as we have seen with humans over and over again, everyone thinks they are right and someone else is wrong.
We are truly entering a new spiritual cycle, so many of the older established rules will be out the door.
Aries is quick tempered, aggressive and assertive. It is bold, brave and a warrior. When led by Mars, it acts first and asks questions later.
It loves conflict and competition, it charges into battle with youthful endeavour, seeking glory. Headstrong and relentless, Aries blankets his bed with the skin of the men he has killed (from the movie Troy - Brad Pitt).
Everything will be more acute, especially when there is a spiritual (light or dark) motive behind things, then the energy of Aries will push forth.
I wish it wouldn’t be so, but it will be for a while. Why? Because the 2 combining energies of Neptune and Aries sets a field of energy, and people will be either drawn in by subconscious (herd mentality) or led there by people who know how to push and exploit the field, as they did during the Saturn/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn - 2020 - COVID.
Strike a religious chord, and people will feel destined to follow, to do the work of God or the chosen few…..
All is not lost though. For as much as we will see increased conflict - especially from now until mid July 2025 with Jupiter the expander squaring Neptune/Saturn - we will see the rise of the spiritual warrior. Aries is definitely a sign of the warrior, and with many people pushed to their limits, I expect people to either fight back or perish, leaving the Earth now for another incarnation later.
Part of the new spiritual cycle, will see the rise of Spirit, cloaked in Aries form. For too long people have taken shit - with ever increasing taxes and bullying from those with power. You will see this change dramatically, as the energy is not there for placid rolling over.
That was Neptune in Pisces, where the whole world allowed an unelected group of people to tell their governments what to do, then went along with it, even if they did not agree with it. We saw what happened there, and it will continue so if people don’t rise.
And rise they will. Built on the back of an extra acute energetic field (Aries in action), those that hear the call of Neptune in Aries will take up their spiritual arms and will rise as the warriors they are.
This is inevitable. Not because I say so, just that the energies in the field make it so.
Experience say that the transits set the field, and the field is ripe for spiritual change. Very ripe. Neptune requires a deeper connection to spirit, one that is taken by one’s own will, not enforced on them by others.
I am not saying that world war 3 will happen, though some believe it is already here, I am saying that spiritual change is upon us though.
Imagine the children being born at this time. They will be born will the energetic imprint of Neptune in Aries in their DNA - true warriors. They will be born into this time, with the energies of the moment firmly establishing in their core being, waiting to come forth.
Exciting times for the spiritually inclined. The rise of the spiritual warrior!
To be alive at this time, with Neptune (also said to rule or imbue with the Christ consciousness) having just moved into a new sign and begining a new cycle, is a real blessing. We just have to get through the desire of some to use this energy to have mass conflict and pursue their own dark and evil agendas.
Rest assured - the dark brotherhood, the hidden hand, the illuminati, the elite and ruling families, whatever you want to call them - will use this energy to further their selfish plans for more power. It is inevitable. I would if I were them.
Like Palpatine in Star Wars, timing is everything. Conflict brings opportunity - to bring in new taxes, new laws, new rules, new surveillance. Fear is a wonderful tool for control.
I just don’t see the energy sticking though. Aries will not be dominated, and this energy is available to all.
Perhaps from the ashes of conflict, on whatever level it comes, will be the chance for Neptune to give us a new spiritual vision.
Last time it was in Aries it convinced Americans to fight each other, with 2 inherent sets of views in conflict with each other. This time?
The rise of the spiritual warrior!
Stephen.
Thanks Stephen, great article
I've read lots of astrological articles about the Neptune-Saturn conjunction in Aries (my sun is 1 degrees Aries, so I've been paying extra attention) - this is my favourite. Thanks and Blessings to you Stephen.
